Easy to use

Easy and Accurate
We have used this app since it came out. For us it has been accurate and easy to use. We really like how fast it loads, and the recent updates have been great. We generally use the widgets and watch complications which give you most of what you need at a quick glance. Also the horse update feature that prompts you to think about how your horse is doing under its blankets is well thought out.

Standard (free) gives you current conditions only — a single heat index or blanket weight recommendation for an average horse, with weather refreshing every 4 hours.

LCT stands for Lower Critical Temperature — the point at which a horse can no longer maintain its body temperature through normal metabolism alone and begins to need extra energy or external warmth to stay comfortable. When conditions drop below your horse's LCT, that's when a blanket is genuinely needed. Hot Horse factors the LCT into its blanket recommendations, accounting for variables like coat condition, body score, wind chill, and precipitation.
